During the 2024 All-Star game, Charles Barkley, who has significantly fallen out of favor with a majority of the Suns’ fanbase, took a jab at Kevin Durant.

With little else to discuss from inside the TNT booth, given the night’s focus on deep threes and wide-open drives to the basket, Barkley asserted, “Kevin’s a follower. He’s not a leader. He’s proven that on all of his stops.”

Barkley, who played four seasons with the Suns from 1992-1996, including an MVP season in ’92, hasn’t refrained from making rather derogatory statements about Phoenix players as of late.

Particularly, Jusuf Nurkic called out Barkley for neglecting to vote in Devin Booker as an All-Star.

Throughout Barkley’s illustrious 16-season career, during which he earned a spot in the Hall of Fame, he was named an All-Star 11 times, secured MVP honors once, and was selected for the All-NBA team once. However, despite making ten playoff appearances, Barkley never clinched an NBA Finals victory, reaching the finals twice and losing in Game 6 on both occasions.

In contrast, Kevin Durant boasts two NBA championships, having clinched both with the Warriors.
