Hughes also received an invitation to Spring Training Camp.

Drafted in the 16th round by the Chicago Cubs in 2017, Hughes made his major league debut in Chicago during the 2022 season. After posting a 3.12 ERA his rookie season, including 68 strikeouts in 57 innings, 2023 was not particularly kind.

Following a string of performances that included allowing five earned runs across two different relief outings, Hughes suffered a knee injury that required a debridement procedure. He departed with a 7.24 ERA over 13.2 innings.

Then, upon returning to triple-A post-procedure, he allowed 11 runs in 11 innings with the Iowa Cubs.

As a result, Hughes was non-tendered in November.

Pitchers and catchers first workout will be on February 14th. You can purchase tickets for Spring Training games at: D-backs Spring Training Ticket Information | Arizona Diamondbacks (mlb.com)
