The 27-year-old spent last season with Nashville SC who are in Major League Soccer. Though he didn’t play a match in the MLS with Nashville, Wyke did compete in three U.S. Open Cup games for them.
However, he did lace up the cleats in the MLS for Atlanta United in seven matches and started two of them during the 2020 season. Wyke collected a passing percentage of 78.3%.
Wyke would then play for the Tampa Bay Rowdies (USL) for two seasons in 2021-22. During his time in Tampa Bay, the club and him went on to claim the 2021 Regular Season Title. The Rowdies only conceded 23 goals in 32 games while he was a part of the Rowdies’ outfit.
With the addition of his versatility and athleticism to the Rising’s backline, Wyke is destined to play a major role in Phoenix’s new head coach Danny Stone’s setup going forward.
The Rising begin their preseason schedule tomorrow as they face the Portland Timbers (MLS) at 1 p.m. MST in Phoenix Rising Soccer Stadium.
