Josh Okogie just had arguably the dunk of the NBA season in the first half of tonight’s Suns vs. Lakers game.

With 7:44 left in the second quarter, Okogie stole the ball from D’Angelo Russell on the right wing of the Suns’ side of half court, then went streaking to the rim. There, the 6-foot-4 guard detonated on the 7-foot Jaxson Hayes with one hand for the and-one.

This play was just one part of a much-needed dominating first half for Phoenix, who entered tonight having lost two straight and struggling mightily offensively.

Okogie finished the half with five points on 2-of-4 shooting in seven minutes off the bench. The Suns lead the Lakers 66-52 at halftime, led by Devin Booker’s 23 points. The most glaring stat is that Phoenix is shooting 50% from the floor and has three turnovers compared to nine for the Lakers.

Los Angeles is a perfect 3-0 against Phoenix this season. Can the Suns keep up this strong play in the second half?
