Arizona State Legend James Harden Loves Playing Against The Phoenix Suns

Tonight, the (19-17) Phoenix Suns are on the road against the (22-13) Los Angeles Clippers. The Clippers have played very well as of late. They were on a five game win steak prior to last night’s loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Suns have had an up and down season that includes a loss against the Clippers on January 3rd. Los Angeles won that game, 131-122.

Clippers point guard James Harden had 22 points, 11 assists, and five rebounds in the game. He shot 53% from the floor, 57% from the three point range, and made all four of his free throws.

This is far better than the first time Harden played against the Suns. The Oklahoma City rookie had 14 points, four rebounds and one assist. He shot 33% from the floor, 40% from three, and made all seven of his free throw attempts. OKC won the game, 117-113.

Harden’s History of Burning The Suns

For his career Harden has averaged 25.7 points, 6.5 assists, and six rebounds per game in 41 games against the Suns. Harden’s teams are 31-10 against Phoenix so far in his career.

This includes an 11-game win streak that happened when Harden was playing for the Houston Rockets. The streak started on December 21, 2016 and ended with a loss on February 7, 2020.

The Los Angeles, California native has had some of his best games against the Suns. On November 16, 2017 he scored 48 points, dished out seven assists, shot 54% from the floor, 54% from three, and made all 18 of his free throws.

He has scored 40 or more points against Phoenix, seven times. Harden’s teams won all seven of those match-ups.

Harden has had 10 or more assists against the Suns, nine times. Harden’s teams are 7-2 in those games.

The long time Houston Rocket has scored 30 or more points against the Suns on 17 different occasions. Harden’s teams are 14-3 in those games.

James Harden has had his way against the Phoenix Suns throughout his career. Hopefully for Suns’ fans the trend does not continue in tonight’s game.
