Tampa Bay’s offense has some of the most popular players in the league on that unit. Their quarterback Baker Mayfield has been well known since his college days at Oklahoma. Wide receiver Mike Evans is one of the most consistent players in the NFL.

Evans is known for having at least 1,000 yards receiving in each year of his career. Players like Mayfield and Evans are essential to the success of this offense but the straw that stirs the drink of that offense if running back Rachaad White.

What A Senior Season

White spent his last two years of college eligibility playing for Arizona State. He had a stand out season during his senior year. White ran for 1,006 yards and 15 touchdowns on 182 carries. He averaged 5.5 yards per carry.

The running back was also a huge part of the passing game at Arizona State. He caught 43 passes for 456 yards and a touchdown that season.

That very productive year, caught the eyes of NFL scouts and White was drafted in the third round, 91st overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2022 NFL draft.

Did the College Production Translate to the Pro Level?

As a rookie, White started in eight games and played in all 17. He ran for 481 yards and a touchdown. White also caught 50 passes for 290 yards and two touchdowns.

This season that dual threat ability has really shined through. White has run for 873 yards and six touchdowns. He also has 56 receptions so far this season for 507 yards and three touchdowns.

The Kansas City, Missouri native is eighth in the NFL in yards from scrimmage with 1,380 total yards. Tampa Bay is not in the position to potentially win the NFC South without the outstanding production of Rachaad White.
