According to Coyotes head coach André Tourigny this morning, J.J Moser will miss some time after suffering an upper-body injury, though he is not expected to be out for an extended period.

“He (Moser) is out right now,” Tourigny said. “We don’t expect that to be long, but probably not today for sure and probably not the next one. He is doing good, so good news.”

This news comes after Colorado forward Miles Wood went in for a big hit on Moser and the Coyote was unable to return in the 4-1 loss on Dec. 23.

Into his third season in the valley, Moser has three goals, 12 assists, 29 hits and 55 blocks in 33 games.

Coming back into Arizona’s lineup, Juuso Välimäki will replace Moser against the Avs. Välimäki was a healthy scratch for the past two contests.

Välimäki has six assists, 12 hits and 30 blocks through 25 games for Arizona this year.

In Mullett Arena, the tilt between the Coyotes and Avalanche begins at 7 p.m. MST.
