Former Arizona State Cornerback Grabs Second Pick-6 of His Career in Blowout Win

Jack Jones only joined the Raiders earlier this month after Josh McDaniels was fired. McDaniels was replaced by Jones’s high school and college coach Antonio Pierce.

Pierce brought in Jones, who had gotten into much trouble since joining the league. Jones needed a change of scenery after being cut, and Pierce gave him a chance. Jones rewarded that generosity by taking an interception to the house in tonight’s blowout win of the Chargers.

It was Jones’s second career Pick-6. His first came in 2022 versus the Packers when he picked off Aaron Rodgers for a 40-yard interception return touchdown to give the Patriots the lead.

This one didn’t quite give the Raiders the lead, as the Raiders were already beating the Chargers 56-7. This made it 63-7. The game ended at 63-21.

Jones has been quite solid for the Raiders since he joined them. In 3 games, he’s been targeted 14 times, allowed 10 of them to be completed, and only has allowed an average yard per catch of 7.8. Maybe Pierce is exactly what Jones needed to get his career on the right track.
