Coming Off A Strong Season

The Basha Bears Varsity baseball team looks to get back to the 6A conference semi-finals with a different outcome.

The Bears finished last season with a 21-10 record and made an impressive playoff run, but fell short to Queen Creek in the semi-final.

Basha outscored opponents 194-100 and entered the playoff bracket as the No. 3 seed.

Despite falling short of the 6A state title, it was a more than successful season for the team.

Basha’s Star Player

The team’s star player is senior infielder and Harvard commit Gavin Smith.

Smith hit .435 for a team-high 47 hits and 19 RBIs. This included seven doubles, three triples, and three home runs.

This outstanding year won him AIA’s 6A Player of the Year.

In his final high school season, Smith will look to bring the team a 6A championship and top the incredible season he had.

Championship Aspirations

The Bears will attempt to make another deep playoff run and come out as 6A state champions when it is all said and done.

While the team did lose a ton of seniors who graduated in May, they have more than enough talent to compensate for the losses.

Keep an eye on Basha Bears baseball as a 6A championship contender this season.
