What’s The Catch?
Now, the Cardinals are also using this as an opportunity to gauge interest in season ticket sales for next season. On the form that needs to be filled out for the giveaway. There is a section where the question is, what ticket package are you interested in? The choices are season tickets, group tickets, premium hospitality, or single game tickets.
The fans who choose the more expensive ticket plans may be the ones who are “randomly” picked for these gifts.
So, the odds of winning a prize are much lower than the odds of being contacted by the Cardinals about buying tickets. From a business perspective it makes perfect sense for the Cardinals to use this giveaway as an opportunity to sale tickets for next season.
The Cardinals may not have to do this if they were playing better. There would be no need to somewhat trick people into being contacted about tickets for next season.
Arizona is currently 2-10 with their remaining games being against the (7-4) Pittsburgh Steelers , (8-3) San Francisco 49ers, (4-8) Chicago Bears, (10-1) Philadelphia Eagles, and (6-6) Seattle Seahawks.
There is a very real possibility of this team ending the season with a record of 2-15 or 3-14. The fans who have stuck around through this season and still support this team deserve a holiday giveaway that doesn’t have strings attached.
Hopefully, this is truly random and the gifts aren’t given to the fans who are most likely to spend the most money on tickets going forward.
