Beginning the season as the Cardinals’ running back #2, Ingram held the position behind James Conner in the team’s depth chart.

However, besides one Week 6 matchup where he saw 10 rushing attempts, the Cardinals made it clear that the rookie Emari Demercado would be the primary backup.

With James Conner on the injured reserve list, Demercado assumed the lion’s share of rushing responsibilities, amassing three weeks with 10 or more carries and delivering two impressive 50+ yard games.

The Cardinals further fortified their backfield by signing Michael Carter in anticipation of their matchup against the Rams.

In his debut with Arizona, Carter carried the ball four times and secured four receptions for 15 yards.

Statistically, Ingram has faced challenges this season, averaging just 2.11 yards per attempt and failing to play in over 50% of the offensive snaps in any game.

Now we will join the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad. Currently, the Chiefs already have three active running backs—Isiah Pacheco, Jerick McKinnon, and Clyde Edwards-Helaire.
