The Arizona Diamondbacks Extend Manager Torey Lovullo

The NL Winning Diamondbacks have officially signed Manager Torey Lovullo to an extension that keeps him on top until 2026.

Lovullo led a Diamondbacks team that lost over 100 games two years ago to one of the most incredible playoff runs imaginable. He made all the right pitching decisions even when they were criticized at the time.

Lovullo turned this franchise around in ways we may never see again, and he did it without high-priced free agents. The highest-paid player on the team, Madison Bumgarner, wasn’t even on the team most of the year. He was DFA’d midseason.

He brought one of the youngest teams in baseball to a wild card berth and then executed near-flawless series wins over the Brewers and Dodgers. Lovullo saved this team from a NLCS loss with outstanding pitching decisions.  This extension was well-earned, and Lovullo has a chance to see this team continue to develop talent. He will also get to watch the Rookie of the Year, Corbin Carroll, play for many years to come.
