The Suns held a 12-point lead heading into the final 12 minutes.

However, in the 4th quarter, the Suns managed to produce only 11 points on offense, as the Lakers finally devised a way to somewhat contain Kevin Durant.

Kevin Durant was the Suns only 20+ point scorer, he had 39.

During a seven-minute stretch in the 4th, Phoenix struggled to put a single point on the board, resulting in the Lakers taking their first lead of the game.

Naturally, reactions across social media were consistent in their shock and disappointment.

Up next for the Phoenix Suns is their home opener against the Utah Jazz, with tipoff scheduled for 7:10 PM on Saturday.
