Garrett Stubbs said earlier this week that if the Phillies were to clinch the NLCS in Arizona, they would make a “bee-line” for the pool. Well, after the Diamondbacks’ incredible comeback in game four, those dreams of Stubb’s are officially kaput.

There will be a game six, meaning either team must clinch in Philly.
Torey Lovullo heard Stubbs’ comments and said the team used it as motivation.
“I think they take things personal.” Lovullo said, “I think they have a chip on their shoulder. I know their backup catcher made a statement about making a beeline to the pool, so I think they are wearing that a little bit. They are motivated by that externally and they are motivated to be as good as they possibly can internally.”
The D-backs won their series against the Dodgers in Chase Field and threw a pool party with Corbin Carroll leading the way.
