From the Diamondbacks website: ‘The ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by the most decorated Olympian of all time, Michael Phelps, who holds a total of 28 medals, including 23 gold medals. An Arizona local, he is the founder of the Michael Phelps Foundation, dedicated to growing the sport of swimming and promoting healthy lifestyles.’

While Phelps was technically born and raised in Baltimore, which makes him partly an Orioles fan, he did move over to Tempe to train at Arizona State University back in 2015.

Now, Phelps resides with his wife and three children in Paradise Valley, and he continues to volunteer at ASU as a swim coach from time to time.

One of the reasons Michael credited for his move to Arizona was, ‘I get to be tan all year.’

Game time for this Game 5 NLCS matchup is scheduled for 5:07 PM on Saturday, October 21.
