On paper, the Diamondbacks might have the hardest schedule to finish the season out of the four teams competing closely for the third wildcard spot. Arizona faces four teams with 70+ wins, three of those being division leaders.

The Diamondbacks end the month of August with the Rangers, Reds and Dodgers. Texas and Los Angeles are both regarded as two of the best teams in baseball and both have 70+ wins. The real treat comes with the Cincinatti series.

Arizona is currently sitting one game back from the third wildcard spot and is in competition with the Reds, who are also one game back. Diamondback fans have to be excited to host the Reds here in Arizona, with the stakes being so high.

The Diamondbacks have another wildcard competitor twice in the month of September in the Chicago Cubs. Playing the Cubs a total of seven games next month, four in Chicago and three in Phoenix, they are all must win games because of the tight race.

The Diamondbacks are currently 34-30 while being on the road. They have five road series in the remainder of the season, along with seven home series.

Arizona seems to be finding a groove. Since the Diamondbacks snapped their nine-game losing streak, the squad has gone 7-2 in the last nine games.

The offense has been putting runs up on the board after what seemed like a month-long drought. Arizona has scored 5+ runs five times in the nine-game span.

The Diamondbacks will next play host to the Texas Rangers on Monday (8/21).
