There goes one assistant coach from the Suns as they lose Patrick Mutombo after spending 1 season in Phoenix to join Adrian Griffin’s staff in Milwaukee according to Adrian Wojnarowski.
Joe Prunty and Patrick Mutombo are joining the Milwaukee Bucks as assistant coaches, sources tell ESPN. Prunty had been a Bucks interim HC (2018) and Hawks interim last season. Mutombo worked most recently under Monty Williams with Suns.

Mutombo spent a lot of time with new Bucks head coach Adrian Griffin in Toronto under Nick Nurse’s staff before joining Monty Williams in Phoenix this past season.
He has also spent time as an assistant coach with the Denver Nuggets with the great George Karl before turmoil hit their franchise over the past few seasons.
His head coaching experience comes from his time in the G-League with the Raptors 905. In two seasons with the team, his win-loss record was an impressive 36-11. Their net rating in both seasons was 1st and 2nd respectively.

The Suns will be missing a great x’s and o’s guru on the offensive end but hopefully, this is the next step for Mutombo to eventually become a head coach sooner rather than later.
