Young has been a member of the Suns for the last three seasons serving as an assistant before getting promoted to Williams’ right-hand man for the remainder of the season.

He has head coaching experience for the 76ers G-League team as he was the head coach for the Delaware 87ers back in 2014 before becoming an assistant coach for the 76ers back in 2017.

Young has gotten rave reviews from players Devin Booker and Chris Paul for helping change the culture as well as being very articulate with Xs and O’s. Here is Booker talking about Young after a win against the Thunder when he was serving as acting head coach while then-coach Monty Williams was out with Covid.

The Suns are still monitoring what happens with Ty Lue as he’s talking with Clippers brass today to determine his status moving forward as coach of the Los Angeles Clippers.

It would be interesting to see how the interview goes next week with Young as he’s really well respected throughout the locker room for his leadership and play-calling abilities.
