Durant told reporters about his respect for Westbrook and then shortly afterward, he and Paul together had a message for the people that continue to doubt or make fun of him on the court.
Kevin Durant on Westbrook:
"When he retires, people are gonna tell the truth about how they feel about his game. Right now, [they] make a joke out of Russ."
Chris Paul:
"I feel like the only people to do that is the people who don't know basketball."pic.twitter.com/7EuCCoVgg2

Durant and Westbrook used to be teammates back in their Oklahoma City Thunder days while Paul mentioned he and Westbrook are two really close friends.
It doesn’t surprise me that they stood up for Westbrook today as there has been plenty of players over the course of this year that has stood up for Westbrook such as guys like Stephen Curry and Kyrie Irving.

Russell Westbrook: "Somebody gotta do it."
KI: "Some people show up right on time. Does it go unnoticed? Do people appreciate it?"

The whole NBA has a ton of respect for Westbrook. After all, he’s an MVP and one of only two players ever to average a triple-double for a season. He’s one of the greatest point guards and competitors this game has ever seen and Durant and Paul made sure everybody heard it.
