Suns vs. Nuggets Game Preview, Odds, and Predictions

© Joe Camporeale- USA TODAY Sports

In less than an hour, the Phoenix Suns will be facing off against the Denver Nuggets for the second time in a week at home once again at Footprint Center. The Suns have been riding a six-game winning streak and just recently clinched the fourth seed in the Western Conference after a win on Tuesday night against the Spurs.

The Nuggets on the other hand have lost 2 out of the last 3 including a loss to the Rockets on Tuesday. The Nuggets currently hold sole possession of the one seed and look to hold firm with that place in the Western Conference. They will be without top players Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray for the second straight meeting between the two teams while the Suns are coming in fully healthy for a fifth straight game.

With both teams having clinched a spot in the playoffs, it’s interesting to see how much the starters will play in tonight’s game with playoffs right around the corner. Here are the odds and my predictions for tonight’s game.

Odds:

Against the Spread: The Suns are favored at -13

Moneyline: The moneyline is set at Suns -670 and Nuggets +570

Over/Under: The Over/Under is set at 222 for the game.

Predictions:

I have the Nuggets in an upset believe it or not by a final score of 109-104. I don’t think the Suns go into the playoffs undefeated in the Kevin Durant era. Even though on paper they should be able to handle business against the injured Nuggets team, this team still found a way to take the Suns to the brink last week with 4 out of the 5 starters out last time.

I think the Suns have one of those off-nights shooting and take a loss to the Nuggets tonight before their home finale against the Los Angeles Clippers on Easter Sunday.

Nuggets resting most of starters against Suns

Tip-off begins at 7 PM AZ Time and we’ll see if the Suns can avoid an upset and stay undefeated in the Kevin Durant era.
