The NBA has fined Phoenix Suns’ head coach Monty Williams a total of $20,000 for his comments about the officiating crew after a loss to the Lakers on Wednesday.

Williams kept the postgame conference short and sweet as he left the microphone after blasting the free throw disparity, which played a large role in the Suns’ loss.
The Lakers were on the verge of breaking a single-season record with 46 free throws, while the Suns shot just under their season average of 20.
However, this was not the first time that Williams shared his thoughts on the free throw disparity. Just a couple games earlier, the Suns’ head coach had a similar response after a loss to the Bucs.

For Monty, the fine was most likely worth it; however, it does not change the fact that the Suns need to start figuring out a way to get to the free throw line.
Phoenix takes on the Kings on Friday night, with only two games separating fourth and eighth place. The Suns currently hold a 2-1 season record against the Kings, adding to the importance of the matchup in the event of a tiebreaker scenario.
