The Super Bowl is not the only thing going on in Phoenix this weekend that is major in the sports world. The Waste Management Phoenix Open going on in Scottsdale will draw hundreds of thousands of fans over the next four days. Here are 7 outright winners who I have bet.

Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!

I have picked two outright winners thus far in 2023, Si Woo Kim at the Sony Open at +4000 odds, and Justin Rose this past weekend at Pebble Beach at +2000 odds.

Outright Winners: WM Phoenix Open

I know picking 7 golfers seems like a lot, however I usually pick 3-7 every week, sprinkle about a third of my normal betting units on them and let it ride.

This weekend being one of the most exciting weekends in Golf outside of the Masters, I could not stop myself from betting 7 this week.

  • Tony Finau +1600
  • Sungjae Im +2500
  • Tom Kim +2800
  • Hideki Matsuyama +3300
  • Jordan Spieth +4500
  • Si Woo Kim +8000
  • Tom Hoge +9000

Tony Finau has been on the fringe of winning an event all season thus far, although early in the year. I believe he has a real shot this weekend at taking home first place. He is the 5th favorite behind Rahm, McIlroy, Scheffler, and Schauffele.

The Next Three Names…

The next three names I have bet are all on a similar projection. All of which could have a great weekend any weekend. Not usually the betting favorites but very good golfers who know how to work their way around the green.

Sungjae Im has been a golfer I have had my eye on for about 6 weeks now, he is getting more comfortable and better with each round of golf he is playing.

Tom Kim on the other hand is a golfer I have been chasing for almost a year now, so beware. I have bet him almost every chance I have gotten over the last year, waiting for him to bring home a victory. Will this weekend be the weekend? Who knows, however I am so invested now I have to bet him. (Bettors understand)

Hideki Matsuyama is a personal favorite of mine, he is a consistent golfer from the tee. His putting is also improving as he gets older. He is a betting favorite of mine, memorable winnings riding Matsuyama over the years.

Long Shots Are Fun, Right?

How could I pass up on these three names at numbers this huge? I know some are saying well because they are going to lose.

Jordan Spieth is one of the best golfers in the sport over the last 5+ years. Getting him at a number this big was something I could not pass up. I will take Spieth at +4500 all day and tomorrow, or in other words, every single time.

Si Woo Kim has already cashed a +4000 ticket for me this year. Which is why I thought, might as well take him at +8000. This kid is becoming a fan favorite and a great golfer right before our eyes. This weekend I think he will put on a show and be in the top 5 come Sunday.

Tom Hoge, like Tom Kim is a golfer that has broken my heart and bank account over the last year, yet I can not stay away. I will bet both of these Tom’s until one of them gets a victory, or I will lose it all trying. (Not Really, Please Gamble Responsibly.)
