Suns Interested in Three Players As Trade Deadline Nears

© Joe Camporeale- USA TODAY Sports

There is only a day left before the trade deadline is over and the Phoenix Suns have yet to trade veteran power forward Jae Crowder. The Suns are, however, interested in three players ahead of tomorrow’s trade deadline.

Those three players are Rockets guard/forward Eric Gordon and Jae’Sean Tate along with the Philadelphia 76ers star defender Matisse Thybulle according to sources.

The Suns have expressed interest in Eric Gordon ever since a couple of months back. Tate and Thybulle are interesting players to consider and based on the way things are going, the Suns aren’t in any desperate situation to move Crowder as much as fans think they are.

The Suns are looking right now to require cheap and noticeably upgraded rotational player’s at the trade deadline if the opportunity presents itself. With Thybulle, the Suns would get a top-10 defender in the league that’s had over 1 steal in every season he’s played.

With Tate, the Suns are getting an athletic wing player that has been averaging at least 11 PPG in his first three seasons. This season has been a down year for the 27-year-old as he’s averaging only 7 PPG on 44% shooting.

The way things are going right now, I expect the Suns to stay pat and not make any moves. They seem to feel good about where the team is at now in a wide-open western conference as they’re getting healthy. I expect them to go out and try to compete for a championship with the core they got now and retool the team in the offseason when bigger names are made at their disposal.
