An Arizona Cardinals’ Hopkins promotional video on Twitter adds further speculation

Just two weeks in, the Arizona Cardinals have not failed to disappoint in offseason drama and news.

Already, the Cardinals have fired their head coach, parted ways with their general manager, learned of a veteran teammate criticizing Kyler Murray, and saw their wide receiver number one post a farewell message on Instagram.

Exciting times to say the least.

And especially for DeAndre Hopkins, who has the entire NFL community sitting on their questions.

With two years and over $34 million left on his contract, owner Michael Bidwill informed the press that Arizona is interested in trading Hopkins. This information was released less than a week following the team’s season finale.

To follow up the groundbreaking report, Hopkins posted a picture of himself in a Cardinals uniform with the caption, “Forever Grateful.”

Not quite the caption you would use if you expected to stick around for another year with the team you have been with for the past three seasons.

But things have now gotten even more interesting after the Cardinals social media team tweeted out a video promoting Hopkins with the caption, “One of one.”

The 45-second video raises a handful of questions and leaves a couple of scenarios on the table.

1.) The Arizona Cardinals’ social media team is completely unaware of any trade talks or rumors. Instead, they are innocently doing their job by promoting players currently on the active roster.

2.)  Michael Bidwill is attempting to boost Hopkins’ trade value in hopes of a first-round draft pick in return. If the Cardinals can make it seem as if Hopkins is extremely important to their roster, his value has the potential to rise.

3.) With Monti Ossenfort as general manager, maybe Arizona has changed its mind about Hopkins. Instead, Ossenfort may look at the three-time All-Pro as a pivotal part of the offense and has requested that the Cardinals keep him around for another season.

And not to mention, the Cardinals will more than likely have a new head coach by the end of next week. The Cardinals could very well be waiting on the opinion of that new coach before they make their final decision.
