The Arizona Diamondback avoided arbitration by reaching contract settlements with pitcher Zac Gallen, first baseman Christian Walker, catcher Carson Kelly, and outfielder Kyle Lewis.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Gallen had a career year last year; he went 12-4 with a 2.54 ERA and a 0.91 WHIP. Gallen started 31 games and pitched 184 innings. He will get $5.6 million next year.
Walker hit 36 home runs and drove in 94 runs. He posted a slugging percentage of.477. Walker had 141 hits and played excellent defense at first base. The first basemen will get $6.5 million.
While Kelly did not have his best year at the plate, batting .211 with seven home runs, he handled the Diamondbacks’ pitching staff well and will get $4.3 million.
Arizona acquired Lewis in November in a trade with the Seattle Mariners. He only played 18 games last year because of injuries. In Lewis’s 18 games, he hit only .143. Lewis will get $1.6 million.
