The latest update on WNBA star Brittney Griner is that Russia has begun moving Griner to the Russian Penal Colony, where prisoners are forced into hard labor and often abused. It’s a sad time for Griner and her family.
Statement from Brittney Griner's legal team:
“Brittney was transferred from the detention center in Iksha on Nov 4th.
She is now on her way to a penal colony.
We do not have any information on her exact current location or her final destination” #RussiaIsATerroristState

The transfer began last Friday, a day after Griner met with the U.S embassy. It has been said the move usually takes weeks or months, but it is happening earlier for some reason. Now attorneys need to find out where Griner is, and notification of her whereabouts comes via physical mail and can take up to two weeks to arrive.
Hopefully, the President and the U.S can get Griner out of this situation soon. How the transfer could affect a deal between the U.S and Russia is still being determined.
