While he hasn’t been considered one of the premier stars in Major League Baseball, he has consistently produced throughout his career to be in the conversation. At the forefront of the Diamondbacks 2023 World Series run, Marte achieved NLCS MVP honors.
Marte, a two-time MLB All-Star, is coming off of a season where he won the Silver Slugger Award and All-MLB first-team. Despite missing time with an ankle injury, he still had a .292 batting average, .932 OPS, 36 home runs and 95 RBIs in 2024.
A finalist for the 2024 National League MVP award, Marte finished behind New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor and Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani. Ohtani ultimately won the award, with Marte placing No. 3.
His offensive firepower tagged along with his underrated defense has helped him become a complete player, and will be a driving force in the Diamondbacks’ quest to get back to the playoffs this upcoming season.
