Lions force Cardinals to delete post of Devin Booker

Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker was among several Detroit Lions fans in attendance at State Farm Stadium to see Detroit take on the Arizona Cardinals.

Booker, who grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan and is known to be a big Detroit sports fan, got to witness his Lions beat the Cardinals 20-13 to improve to 2-1 on the season. The Cardinals quickly deleted a post of him at the game on X when they realized he was wearing a Lions hat after the Lions pointed it out in a tweet.

After the game, the Lions posted another picture of Booker where you can clearly see his hat and captioned it “Thanks for coming out @DevinBook.”

The Cardinals also honored Al McCoy, the long-time Suns play-by-play announcer and Ring of Honor member who passed away at age 91 yesterday, before the game with a moment of silence. Booker had great admiration for McCoy in a statement released by the team.

“I had the privilege of Al McCoy narrating the first eight years of my career,” Booker said. “He was inducted into the Ring of Honor my second season, and it was then I really understood what a special talent he was. And over the course of my career, I’ve learned what an even more special person he was. We will miss Al, and I am so glad our legacies in Phoenix are forever connected.”

Booker and the Suns start training camp next week ahead of their first preseason game on Oct. 6 against the Los Angeles Lakers.
