Known for his talented route-running skills and elite hands, Marvin Harrison Jr. is now turning heads in Arizona for a different reason during training camp, which is his body transformation. He’s preparing for the physical demands of the NFL, and that means getting bigger, stronger, and more durable.

Listed at 6’3 and weighing 220 pounds, Harrison Jr. has always had the frame, but now he’s packing on muscle to match the NFL’s intensity. The star wide receiver mentioned in an interview with the Cardinals that he “added 11 lbs of muscle.” (Credit: Dani Sureck | AZ Cardinals). The added size should help him battle press coverage and absorb contact over the middle.
I sat down w/ WR @MarvHarrisonJr where we talked how his 11 added lbs of muscle can help w/ contested catches & if he’s playing like a “bad mother ___”!
Here’s what he said on the personnel consistency paying off w/ the deep ballꜜ

With Kyler Murray healthy and a young offense in need of a true No. 1 target, Harrison Jr. is expected to step in and contribute immediately. Bulking up is just one step toward fulfilling that role.
Cardinals players comment on Marvin Harrison Jr.’s growth:
Beyond the weight room, Harrison Jr. continues to refine his timing with Murray and absorb the playbook. But it’s the physical change that’s catching eyes. Teammates have noticed, including with Quarterback Kyler Murray mentioning the photo of a bulked-up Harrison Jr. looked like, “AI.” (Credit: Tyler Drake | Arizona Sports)

It’s early, but Harrison Jr.’s transformation is signaling that he’s prepared to dominate. For a franchise looking for a spark, Harrison Jr.’s evolution could prove to be successful in Arizona’s possible high-powered offense.
