Rising comes off a 1-0 loss against Lexington SC on July 4. Lexington’s Michael Adedokun scored the match’s only goal in the 34th minute. Phoenix had eight shots in the match but none of them were on goal.
Rising are now sixth in the Western Conference with a 5-5-5 record and 20 points.

Oakland defeated Detroit City FC, 2-0, on July 5. The Roots’ Panos Armenakas started the scoring in the second half, getting his team a 1-0 lead in the 55th minute. Marcello Polisi goal in the 86th minute helped seal the win for Oakland. This was their third straight win.
The Roots are in 10th place in the Western Conference with a 5-2-8 record and 17 points.
