Diamondbacks bring back Jake Lamb for developmental role

According to MLB.com’s Steve Gilbert, former third baseman Jake Lamb will work closely with position players throughout the organization and spend time with major leaguers.

Lamb previously played six seasons with the Diamondbacks and was an All-Star in 2017. He was a crucial part of the lineup during Arizona’s playoff run that same year, but injuries prevented him from fully developing in the desert.

It’s a full-circle moment for the former D-Back, as a well-liked player returns to help guide a new generation of Arizona talent.
