GLENDALE – When a team is 3-9 and currently on a four-game losing streaks, tensions could begin to rise. However, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett spoke postgame following the team’s 20-17 loss to Tampa Bay Buccaneers about how the spirit remains high amongst the players in the locker room. The 32-year-old discussed about the offense’s shortcomings but sees a motivated unit ready to commit to fixing the problem.

Brissett on why the team fell short on Sunday:

“I know I get up here and sound like a broken record, but its just execution. In a lot of those critical plays, I got to play better. I think [offensive coordinator Drew Petzing] is doing a good job of putting us in the right situations and giving us opportunities to make plays.

“Obviously, right now, they’re down. We just lost. A good thing about this team and group is we show up to work on Monday…the energy is upbeat. Everyone all in and on board. Win, lose or draw, it’s always going to be about the detail. Even in wins, you got to find ways to clean up details. The tough part about it is coming in losses. Like coach says, ‘the margin is so slim, we can’t afford to be off the details.”

When asked about his message to the fans, Brissett explained that the team is doing their best and should be hopeful that the team, regardless of who watches, is staying together. He cemented Jonathan Gannon as a massive reason for the team’s cohesion through this rough 2025 season.

Communication amongst Gannon, Brissett and other players on the roster have been clear. The usual tensions that would arise from a record like the Cardinals hasn’t been tempted because of the leadership involved, which Brissett has been impressed by this year. Brissett continued that the reason the team plays hard is because of Gannon’s voice and supports his head coach to the fullest.
