According to Sun Devil Source’s Chris Karpman, the sophomore will miss his second game of the season because of an injury. During Tuesday’s practice, Leavitt was seen wearing a walking boot on his right foot, the same foot he was nursing when he missed the game against Utah earlier this month.
The Sun Devils could be without two of their offensive stars for Saturday’s matchup against the Cyclones, as wide receiver Jordyn Tyson is listed as questionable. If Tyson is also ruled out come Saturday, Arizona State will need to adjust its game plan.

Sixth-year senior Jeff Sims will take over as the starter, though his passing completion rate on the road is a cause for concern. He has a 47.4% completion rate, compared with Leavitt’s 59.3%. Arizona State may pivot to rely more on the running game than the pass, but for a team known for its explosive offense, it would mark a major shift from what the Sun Devils are used to.
Another injury has left Sun Devil fans concerned about the team’s future, sparking a wave of pessimism online about what this latest setback could mean. The result of Saturday’s game could shape the rest of the season.

Everything went right for ASU football last season (other than questionable calls in the Texas game) This season very little has gone right. https://t.co/YitPHKul6o

Don’t really know what to say besides that this team has just been absolutely plagued with injuries throughout pretty much the entirety of conference play
Bummer but that’s football https://t.co/Wl8pEBpXwY

As of now, ASU is 5-3 in the season and 3-2 in conference play. As Arizona State prepares to hit the road without several key players, the rest of the team will need to rely on its depth and resilience to find a way to win.
