GLENDALE – If Sunday’s embarrassing 22-21 loss couldn’t get any worse for the Arizona Cardinals, the team just loss an important piece to the offense for a long time. Head coach Jonathan Gannon announced on Monday that backup tight end Tip Reiman will miss the remainder of the 2025 season due to a severe ankle injury suffered in the third quarter vs. the Tennessee Titans.

Gannon reacts to loss of Reiman:
“That’s a big loss but you’ve got to overcome it. Full confidence in obviously Trey [McBride] and Elijah [Higgins] and then Travis came in and he’s been playing extremely well on 4th down and he’ll come in and do a good job for us. We’ve definitely got to come in and pick up the slack.”

Reiman was a significant piece of Arizona’s offense, that tends to run plenty of 12 or 13 personnel to enhance the run game. Offensive coordinator Drew Petzing schemes up more 13 personnel than any other offense in the NFL. More responsibility will be placed on fellow tight ends like Trey McBride, Elijah Higgins and Travis Vokolek to pick up the slack in the blocking game.
The Cardinals have struggled to stay healthy all season, with a plethora of injuries on both sides of the ball. The franchise sits at 2-3 and loses an essential piece of the offensive gameplan, which might force Petzing to shift the scheme even more.
