To prepare for this weekend’s game, the Sun Devils practiced with cowbells ringing to imitate Mississippi State’s home crowd. Cowbells are the most iconic symbol of Bulldog football and one of the most unique traditions in all of college sports.

A few MSU fans online appreciated the friendly taunt.

Some ASU fans weren’t phased by Mississippi State’s post.

Arizona State enters the week with a win over Northern Arizona, but an underwhelming performance caused the Sun Devils to slip from No. 11 to No. 12 in this week’s AP Top 25 poll. ASU hopes for a bounce-back performance as they go on the road for the first time this season.

Both teams will put online chatter aside and let their play do the talking as they face off on Saturday, Sept. 6, at 4:30 p.m.
