Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs shows her support for the Arizona Diamondbacks:
Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs took time out of her day to come down to Chase Field to not only sign the house bill into effect but to show her support for the Diamondbacks. This comes as a sigh of relief for everyone in the Diamondbacks organization and D-Backs fans, as the future is now secured in downtown Phoenix for the next 30 years. Many were unsure if the measure would end up getting passed, though the Arizona House of Representatives voted to approve HB2704 in June by a 35-20 vote.

HB2704 is a measure that will recapture sales taxes from Chase Field and use them towards renovations, including addressing air conditioning, plumbing, and electrical issues. This bill allows a maximum of $500 million in sales taxes from Chase Field for renovations, and Arizona Diamondbacks owner Ken Kendrick has already stated they are going to invest $250 million of their own money into these repairs.
