Suns’ Ryan Dunn showing his two-sport athlete abilities:
Ryan Dunn took his talents to the diamond and learned from one of the best in the league. Better known for his defensive versatility on the hardwood, Dunn traded sneakers for cleats and showed off a different kind of quickness as he scooped grounders at second base.

For the D-Backs, the timing couldn’t have been better. The Snakes have recently faced headlines centered around Ketel Marte’s missed games, leaving questions around their star’s commitment and dedication. Dunn’s lighthearted cameo offered a refreshing narrative, reminding fans of Phoenix’s connected sports community rather than the latest wave of criticism.

Moments like this go beyond novelty. They highlight the shared pride among the Phoenix franchises, where stars support one another and fan bases overlap. That mutual support is a cornerstone of building a unified sports identity.

The Phoenix Suns and Mercury Night has long been a great promotional crossover, that also included Suns’ Point Guard Collin Gillespie and Forward Oso Ighodaro throwing out the first pitch. Ryan Dunn’s hands-on involvement gave it new life though, as seeing one athlete step out of his element to support another team in the Valley is one of those one-of-a-kind moments.
