In recent seasons, the Arizona’s offensive line has been unreliable. While flashes of solid pass blocking have allowed Murray to showcase his deep-ball accuracy and improvisation, lapses in protection have too often led to hurried throws, unnecessary hits, and stalled drives. According to league tracking data, Murray has faced one of the league’s higher pressure rates when healthy, an alarming stat for a quarterback whose success depends on timing and field vision. Arizona was 28th in the NFL for pass rush win rate (PRWR) with 33%, showing they need to work on giving Murray some more time to work his offense.

Continuity will be crucial as the best NFL offensive lines typically perform best when the same five starters develop chemistry over time. On Thursday, Arizona signed former Cardinals Guard Will Hernandez to bring in some depth, and a familiar face.

For Cardinals fans, this question isn’t just about the offensive coming together this season, it’s about protecting their franchise cornerstone for the future. Murray’s mobility gives him a built-in escape hatch, but relying on that too often risks injury and limits offensive versatility. If Arizona’s front five can provide a clean pocket more consistently, Murray’s arm talent and creativity could flourish in Offensive Coordinator Drew Petzing’s system, and elevate them into serious contention.
