PHOENIX – In a move that reshapes the Phoenix Suns’ offseason, guard Bradley Beal has agreed to a contract buyout and will join the Los Angeles Clippers, according to multiple reports.

Beal, a three-time All-Star, departs Phoenix after two injury-riddled seasons marked by inconsistency and roster imbalance. His new deal with the Clippers is worth $11 million over two years and includes a player option. He is expected to sign after clearing waivers later this week.

In a stunning development just weeks before training camp, the Phoenix Suns and veteran guard Beal have reportedly agreed to a contract buyout, signaling the end of a short and turbulent chapter in the Valley. Bradley Beal’s departure signals change in direction:

The move comes as the Suns aim to restructure a top-heavy roster that failed to meet expectations last season. Despite a star-studded trio of Beal, Kevin Durant, and Devin Booker, Phoenix was eliminated early in the playoffs, raising questions about chemistry and depth. Beal, who arrived via trade from Washington with much fanfare, struggled to find his rhythm. Injuries limited Beal to 38 starts last season, where he averaged 17.0 points in a reduced role that never quite clicked.

Financial flexibility appears to be one of the primary motivations for the buyout as well. Beal was owed around $111 million, and with the Suns pushing deep into the luxury tax, offloading his salary opens avenues for acquiring rotational depth and future assets.

While Phoenix pivots toward a new direction under head coach Jordan Ott, Beal wasn’t included in any future plans. Beal’s time in Phoenix may have been brief, but his exit marks a critical turning point for a franchise still seeking its first NBA title.
