PHOENIX – With a contract buyout agreement between the Phoenix Suns and Bradley Beal’s $110 million salary to be completed in the coming days, teams are already lining up to sign the three-time All-Star. NBA Insider Jake Fischer highlighted four teams that are interested in Beal, those being the Minnesota Timberwolves, Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers. After trading away guard Norman Powell, the Clippers are one of the favorites to sign the 32-year-old to pair with superstar Kawhi Leonard.

Fischer on Clippers interest in Suns guard:

“Some confirmed suitors for Beal include the LA Clippers—fresh off agreeing to trade Norman Powell to Miami in a three-team deal that will bring back Utah’s John Collins—as well as the Los Angeles Lakers, Milwaukee and Minnesota. Miami was widely anticipated to be in that mix, but the Heat’s agreed-to acquisition of Powell would appear to rule them out of the Beal chase and would likewise appear to boost the Clippers’ chances of convincing Beal to join Kawhi Leonard, James Harden & Co. by stepping into a clear backcourt void created by Powell’s departure.”

The Clippers are looking to optimize Leonard’s timeline by swinging for a low-risk, high-reward type of player in Beal. Before arriving in Phoenix, Beal was an All-NBA caliber player and one of the purest scorers in the game. However, those days are far removed, but the hope is that he can rekindled that spark in Los Angeles.

The other teams all have similar selling points. Beal could be the clear number two option with the Bucks and Timberwolves and rehabilitation his reputation around the media and the fans. He could play alongside superstar players like Giannis Antetokounmpo or Anthony Edwards.

However, the opportunity to play with Lebron James in the biggest market in the league might be too enticing for Beal. The 6’4 guard could join another Big 3 with Luka Doncic and James on the Lakers. There wouldn’t be a reliance on him to be a playmaker and could play strictly off-ball, which was a problem with the Suns.
