Tarik Skubal is not only a household name, but he holds a key to the city. Kingman, Arizona shuts down like a Friday Night Lights episode when Skubal pitches. It was a memorable Memorial Day weekend when Skubal was the first pitcher in Tigers history to throw a complete game with zero walks, no more than two hits, and 13+ strikeouts.
A Tarik Skubal start day is an EVENT in Kingman, Arizona.
His hometown might be small, but he has an army of supporters who stop their day to watch him pitch.

It was a madhouse in Detroit, as they haven’t been this loud since the NFL playoffs and Cade Cunningham’s playoff debut. Skubal pitched all nine innings in a statement shutout. He only allowed two hits, and smiled his way to a victory with no earned runs on his outing.

The last pitch of the game for the Kingman kid, was the hardest of Skubal’s career, 102.6 mph. Maybe it’s the Rock Springs Cafe pie, or Skubal just loving the upcoming summer heat, but he represented Arizona in legendary fashion on Sunday.
