The Mets will be looking to come in to get some revenge, as Arizona took two out of three games just this last week at Citi Field. New York came into that matchup winning ten of their last twelve games. Their train came to a stop though after the first game of this last series, as the Diamondbacks won two close contests right after.
Heating up:
Geraldo Perdomo might just be the most underrated player in the entire league. Just yesterday in Philadelphia, he went 4-for-5 including three RBIs. In his last seven games, Perdomo has a .440 batting average and a .483 on-base percentage along with two home runs and ten RBIs.

Monday’s mound management:
New York will have Griffin Canning on the mound tonight to face off against the Snakes. He has a 4-1 record on the season with a 2.61 ERA. Canning looked great in his last start in Washington against the Nationals as he pitched five innings and gave up no earned runs on four hits.

Ryne Nelson will be getting the start today for Arizona, after news of Corbin Burnes’ having shoulder fatigue, Nelson will get another opportunity to show his talents. His last outing came against this same New York team where he took over for Eduardo Rodriguez after a harsh outing. Nelson though went four innings pitched and gave up no hits, and will look to replicate that success on Monday night.
Arizona will look to fend off a hungry New York Mets team looking to get some payback after their series loss this last week. The first game of the series is over at Chase Field on Monday, May 5th @ 6:40 PT.
