The Nationals went out and took an early lead after Brandon Pfaadt surrendered a two-run home run to Nationals’ Luis Garcia Jr., although their lead wasn’t enough as the Snakes are living up to their nickname as the, “answerbacks.”

The story of the night was Corbin Carroll’s two home-run game. This was Carroll’s fifth multi home-run game of his career, as he finished the day going 2-4 with three RBI’s. His towering homers came in with exit velocities at 110.7 and 111.8 in each at bat. Geraldo Perdomo came to play as well at the plate today, after he had three singles, and put up two runs for the D-Backs as well.

One of the unfortunate stories of the night came when superstar Ketel Marte encountered a strained left hamstring in the first inning, as how bad the state of the injury is, only time will tell. As of now, Marte will be placed on the 10-Day injured list.

The D-Backs bullpen situation seems to be only getting better and sturdier. The three headed monster of Shelby Miller, Justin Martinez, and A.J. Puk, only gave up two hits in the final three innings of Friday night’s matchup, as Martinez got his first save of the 2025 season also.

The D-Backs move to a 5-3 record on the season, meanwhile the Washington Nationals head to a dismal 1-6 record to start their 2025 campaign.
