Ketel Marte is not only the best second baseman in the entire league, but there are too many arguments that he can be an NL MVP.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! Now coming off of another season in which Marte continued to skyrocket, he has bigger aspirations. One might just be to hold up an NL MVP. Ketel laughed while stating over spring training, “Everybody knows that if I don’t get hurt, Ohtani was going to be in trouble.” He is humble, yet knows his capabilities. Before the 2022 season, Ketel Marte inked a five-year deal for $76 million, one that the Arizona Diamondbacks are happy that they made. With Marte locked up until a club option in 2028, he has comfortability in stability.

Marte mentioned, “I think you play more relaxed. We don’t think about anything. We just think that we already have our contracts, our families are secure, they’re good.” Truly showing he isn’t just a great baseball player, but an amazing person, and family member.
So where does Ketel Marte go from here?! In a league full of guys like Shohei Ohtani, Juan Soto, Ronald Acuna Jr, and Francisco Lindor.. it’s gotta be hard to keep up. Although, Marte was trailing close behind Ohtani in the glorified stat Wins Above Replacement right before an unfortunate ankle injury sidelined him for around a month.

Ketel Marte showed the world what he can do in that 2023 playoff run, and embraced the momentum again last season. If he can once again be the guy the Arizona Diamondbacks need him to be, the league will be in big trouble.
