AVONDALE – After an electric General Tire 150 on Friday, it’s now time for NASCAR’s Xfinity Series GovX200 to take over Phoenix Raceway. The field is stacked with former winners, like Justin Allgaier and Sammy Smith, but the early favorite is early season phenom Connor Zilisch. The 18-year-old took the win at the Focused 250 at COTA and looks to go back-to-back in Phoenix. However, the field is tough like with his teammate Allgaier, who is a previous winner and finished second in Atlanta for the Bennett Transportation & Logistics 250.

Phoenix Raceway will be a change of pace for the drivers, as early season races have been wild cards for its track. The Oval shape will be a good indicator for the rest of the season. In Phoenix, the track order is imperative for winning. In the past 10 winners for the Xfinity Series at Phoenix Raceway, all of them have come from a racer in the top 10 position, six of which from the top 3.

The history of the track bodes well for previous winners like Smith, and the current favorite Zilsch, as they both reside in the top five. It’ll be a competitive race between the top racers that NASCAR has to offer this Saturday.
