The United States has won 1,179 gold medals in Olympic history and will look to continue to add to that gargantuan total as 592 American athletes have arrived for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Out of those who were taking in the spectacle, the Phoenix Mercury trio of Diana Taurasi, Kahleah Copper and Brittney Griner were seen having a great time embracing what it means to be an Olympian before the games start.
This will be Taurasi’s sixth Olympic Games she will be competing in and in the past five, the Mercury legend has won gold in all of them: Athens (2004), Beijing (2008), London (2012), Rio de Janeiro (2016) and Tokyo (2020). Griner will be entering her third Olympics and was a gold medal winner with Taurasi in 2016 and 2020. As for Copper, this will be her first Olympics.
