The Carolina Panthers suddenly parted ways with Wilson on Sunday after he spent just one season as the Vice President of Player Personnel. The Athletic reported the news of his arrest.

The High Point, N.C. native spent all 12 seasons of his NFL career with the Cardinals from 2001-12. He was inducted into the team’s Ring of Honor in 2015 and spent eight years post-retirement in a variety of roles with Arizona’s scouting department. Wilson was also the team’s co-interim general manager at the end of the 2022 season when Steve Keim took an indefinite leave of absence.

Wilson has the second-most tackles in Cardinals history at 903 (81 for loss) and recorded 27 interceptions in his playing career.
