According to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, current Austin Spurs (G League affiliate of the Sun Antonio Spurs) assistant general manager Brendan Sabean “is expected to become the (Suns’) new G League general manager, league sources told HoopsHype.”

Sabean has served as assistant GM for the past two years and been with the Austin Spurs since 2018, previously in a player development and basketball operations role with the organization. Before this, Sabean was the director of basketball operations at Grand Canyon University for a short time in 2018 after originally being a graduate assistant with the team in 2015-17 and special assistant to the head coach from 2017-18.

The Valley Suns have not officially named any coach or front office member yet, but did select 14 players in an expansion draft earlier this month. Jahlil Okafor, Emmanuel Mudiay, Denzel Valentine and Theo Maledon highlighted the names from the draft.

The Valley Suns will be playing their inaugural season at Arizona State University’s Mullett Arena beginning this fall. Fans interested in season tickets can visit thevalleysuns.com for more information.
