HoopsHype determined who has the best odds to be drafted by each team using their Draft Predictor. According to the article, this is a “new tool that factors in our Aggregated Mock Draft and our workout tracker to generate the probability of every player landing at each draft slot.”

These five players had the highest odds to be drafted by Phoenix:

  • Tyler Kolek, PG, Marquette: 32.8%
  • Isaiah Collier, PG, USC: 11.8%
  • Tristan da Silva, PF, Colorado: 9.2%
  • Carlton Carrington, PG, Pittsburgh: 8.2%
  • Kel’el Ware, C, Indiana: 8.0%

There are multiple reports that the Suns are zeroing in on the 23-year-old Kolek with the No. 22 pick. Kolek turned heads for Suns’ fans when he posted on his Instagram story Tuesday that he was in Scottsdale and worked out for the team Thursday.

Collier would be an interesting development project for the Suns to draft after being the No. 1 overall high school prospect in the 2023 class. He averaged 16.3 points on 49/34/67 shooting splits, 4.3 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 1.5 steals for an underwhelming USC team in his lone season with the Trojans.

As with Kolek and Collier, these other three all fit positions the Suns are reportedly targeting this offseason. According to Arizona Sports 98.7’s John Gambadoro, Phoenix will be prioritizing three roster needs this offseason: a point guard who can play more than 20 minutes per game, a backup big upgrade over Drew Eubanks and a young, athletic wing.

Da Sillva would be a young, athletic wing, while Carrington would be another point guard option, like Kolek and Collier, and Ware could fill the backup big position.

The first round of the NBA Draft is on June 26th with the second round the following day on June 27. There have been some rumors that the Suns could trade down from 22, but we will not know until the first day of the draft, as they are unable to trade the pick until then.
