Mike Budenholzer reportedly won’t retain past Suns assistants

The Phoenix Suns assistant coaches will reportedly all be different next season after the hiring of Mike Budenholzer this morning.

According to Bleacher Report and TNT’s Chris Haynes, “Phoenix Suns assistants under former head coach Frank Vogel were informed that they will not be retained by Mike Budenholzer, league sources tell @NBAonTNT, @BleacherReport.”

Vogel brought in a completely new staff this season outside of associate head coach Kevin Young, who was hired to be the head coach at BYU last month.

Budenholzer had reportedly already been assembling a new staff before he was hired, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Budenholzer is the Suns’ target and talks are expected to move quickly, sources tell ESPN. He’s been working to assemble a coaching staff for a return to a head coaching job and that process is also gathering momentum, sources said. https://t.co/PSWPi9C6Pr

No announcements have been made as of who Budenholzer will bring in on his staff.
